Pure, Saatvik and Nutritive Diet
Food has great importance in the development of child. It affects not alone body, but it does affect mind and intellect also. Seven constituent elements of the body—Juice (Rasa), Blood (Rakta), flesh (Maans), fat (Meda), bones (Asthi), marrow (Majjaa) and semen (Sukra/Raj) are formed and nourished by food only. The children also require Omega-3 fatty acid in sufficient quantity for the development of brain, nervous system and eyes. Pure, nutritive and saatvik food containing the required quantity of Carbohydrates, Protein, Calcium, Minerals, Vitamins & Omega-3 fatty acid can lead to their proper physical development. Moreover, it is also worth paying attention that in order to get good results of Yoga practices, it should be performed in the Morning with empty stomach. Therefore, it is essential that the children should get food which is endowed with the quality of purity, goodness and nourishment so that they become physically strong, fickleness of their mind decreases, pure and simple feelings arise in them, violent mentality is rooted out, grasping and memorizing power of their mind increases.
The children develops their eating and drinking habits. By the time of attaining the age of five years, they also develop their liking and disliking for eating and drinking items. Therefore, it is necessary that habit of taking nutritive, pure and healthy food should be inculcated in them by that time. By the intake of Junk Food (Fast Food), unnecessary fat accumulates in the body. It results in the emergence of diseases in the body, reduce mind concentration; blood-vessels, muscles, nurves system and bones etc. become weak and digestion decreases. Keeping the above points in mind, pure, nutritive and saatvik food are being served in the Vatika to the children. Breakfast in the morning, lunch in the midday and light refreshment in the afternoon is made available to them in the Vatika. Food Chart of the Vatika has been prepared according to season for the children of this age group with the assistance of Diet specialists. The cerials, fruits, vegetables and dry fruits are included in the food served at SanskaramVatika.
